remembered as the most decorated track and field athlete in program history and one of the most gifted athletes across all sports in school history.

After transferring in from Chapman University in 1973, Singletary starred on the Southern California College track team, including the 1974 squad that is also enshrined in the Hall.  After a successful indoor season, Singletary arrived at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships and joined his teammates in helping SCC finish second as a team at the event.  His time of 46.3 seconds in the 440 yard dash got him across the line just .2 seconds ahead of Isiah Douglas of Southeastern Louisiana to make him a National Champion and an All-American.  He was one of the last champions of that distance, as the discipline remained on the Championship slate for just two more seasons.

He still holds school records in the 200m and 400m events in the outdoor side individually and was part of the record-holding 4x400m relay lineup, all three coming in 1974.  His 400m time was ninth in the world that year and fifth in the nation.  His 100m time was only eclipsed by Chase Mars in 2022.  Indoors, Singletary still has his name in the record book as part of the 1974 distance medley relay lineup.

His accomplishments put him on the map after graduation in 1975 and he would compete for the world renowned Maccabi Union Track Club, running in Europe until he retired from competition.

Singletary's has grown over the years, for he had three children who gave him 10 grandchildren as of 2017.  He ended up working in the dialysis work, moving to Texas and then Las Vegas.  He would get involved at St. Matthews Baptist Church, devoted time to take care of his mother, was friends withe everyone, and was described by his family as personable, loving, and a genuine man who was a snappy dresser.  Sadly, Mike Singletary unexpectedly passed away on September 25, 2016 at age 69 due to hypertensive cardiovascular disease.  His sister was on hand in 2017 to represent him at his induction ceremony.
