Unfortunately, record keeping for college athletics in the early days of Southern California College was not as it is today, making the accomplishments on the field for Bill Severn hard to tally.  That said, it is known that Severn was a quarterback and a coach for SCC football for four years between 1958-1961 after a successful career as a child actor.  He helped guide the Deacons (as they were known) to a 6-1 record in 1958 and a 6-0 mark in 1959.  His 1960 campaign saw the team go 4-5 and the 1961 season results are not known as of now.

Highlights during that span include a 98-13 smashing of California Baptist Seminary in 1958, the highest point total scored in program history, and an 82-0 blanking of B.C.C in 1959.  The 1959 team had an incredible differential by the end of the season at +265.  The squad pitched four shutouts and allowed only 34 total points (six against L.I.F.E. and 29 to Azusa Pacific), while scoring 299 (82, 46, 42, 70, 52, 78).

With Severn at the helm, the SCC football team was a juggernaut, and while we may never know his total yards or QBR, the results speak for themselves and Severn is undoubtedly one of the best athletes to ever go to SCC/Vanguard.
