Hall of Fame
Ed Arnold has been a longtime supporter of Vanguard University and was inducted into the VU Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service. Ed spent 60 years in broadcasting, including being a co-host and managing editor of PBS SoCal/KOCE-TV's "Real Orange" and a sportscoaster/anchor for KTLA-TV and KABC-TV in Los Angeles. He also served as an announcer for the internationally televised "Hour of Power" religious program since it went on air in 1970 until it finished its run.
For Vanguard, Ed was always around campus and at various events, from being the host at the annual Vanguard Christmas Fantasia show to being present at ceremonies on campus and athletic events. For the Athletic Department, Ed was a sponsor and a fan.Â
Ed was never far from his wife, Dixie, at most VU events. She served the institution in the Liberal Studies Department, including being the chair of the department, for a number of years. The two also have their name on the Vanguard University Lyceum Theater, which was added in 2014.
For his service to not just the entire University but to the Athletic Department, Ed Arnold will shine on as a member of the VU Hall of Fame.
