In just two seasons as a Vanguard women’s soccer player, Jordan Davidson quickly cemented herself as one of the top strikers to ever prowl around an opponent’s goal. She landed at VU in 2012 after playing for Paradise Valley CC in Phoenix, where she had been named a National Junior College Athletic Association First-Team All-American and the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Knowing Davidson had helped Paradise Valley win the 2010 junior college national championship, fellow VU HOF member and Head Coach Randy Dodge understood he had identified a gem for his program. Ultimately, Davidson exceeded expectations over the next two years.

The team improved from a 12-5-1 record in 2011 to an 18-2-1 mark in 2012, one of only two teams in school history to win a program record 18 games. In addition, the Lions destroyed Golden State Athletic Conference competition, going a perfect 10-0 in conference play to secure the first regular season conference championship in program history. The team continued to run at full throttle in the GSAC Tournament, besting The Master’s (2-0) and Biola (2-1) to stay perfect against GSAC teams and capture the first postseason trophy in program history. The magic continued as the Lions qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the second time in program history and earned the opportunity to host as well. The Blue and Gold thumped Embry-Riddle, 3-0, in Costa Mesa to book passage to the final site in Orange Beach, Alabama, extending the team’s win streak to 13 matches in the process. VU dominated Baker (Kan.) in its first game, with Davidson scoring twice in the 5-1 rout. In the quarterfinals, Spring Arbor (Mich.) ended VU’s run in a penalty kick shootout.

Despite the defeat, Davidson had etched her name in the record book, with most of her 2012 season records still topping the single-season charts. She set program-bests with 46 points and 18 goals, finishing first in points per game (2.30) and goals per game (0.90). Davidson’s eight game-winning goals also tied for first. In addition, Davidson placed fifth all-time with 10 assists and seventh in assists per game (0.50). A deeper dive into the stats revealed single-season placement total in shots (101, 3rd), shots per game (5.05, 4th), shots on goal (58, 2nd) and shots on goal per game (2.90, 2nd). She took a career-best nine shots against Baker. Davidson became the first player in program history to accomplish the feat as an NAIA First-Team All-American. Moreover, her accolades also included spots on the All-GSAC and NAIA All-Tournament teams. The GSAC Player of the Year, she also received GSAC Player of the Week honors twice.

Even though the secret was out about Davidson, that did not prevent her from being a dominant offensive threat in 2013. She helped VU to a 15-5-1 record and a third place GSAC finish with a 7-3 mark. She scored 11 goals and picked up seven assists in 19 games for 29 points. She established single-game personal-bests against Bethesda in goals (4) and points (9) on September 20 as wreaking havoc upon opposing defenses became the norm. VU took down Biola, 1-0, to start the GSAC Tournament but fell to Westmont in the next game to come up just shy of a repeat. VU edged out Columbia (Mo.) in a shootout to start the NAIA Tournament – and reached the Final Site for the second straight year - but fell to Robert Morris in Orange Beach. Davidson shared GSAC Player of the Year acclaim and made the All-GSAC Team for the second straight season.

Davidson stamped her name in several places in VU’s career record book. She was first in points per game (1.92), goals per game (0.74) and shots on goal per game (2.79). Her 4.54 shots per game ranked second, and she tied for third with nine game-winning goals. Her 29 career goals rank seventh-best in program history, while she is top 10 in assists (18, 8th), points (75, t-6th) and shots (177, 6th).
