Hall of Fame

HOF Banner 1

The Vanguard Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 2004 & and has since grown to 39 honorees.  The Athletic Department has happily inducted eight Teams, 24 individual Student-Athletes, and eight individuals for Meritorious Service to the department.  The Hall of Fame is to enhance Vanguard University & the Athletic Department by honoring those who served or played for the Southern California College or VU program.  It also helps to reestablish and maintain ties with former SCC/VU student-athletes, maintain camraderie of those associated with the Athletic Department, and to continue to elicit continued identity and support for Vanguard University and all VU Athletic Programs.

Student-Athletes nominated must have graduated from the school, are five years past their final day of compeition as a Lion, must have obtained recognition for the sport(s) played, and left in good standing while competing at VU/SCC.  A coach must have at least 10 years of coaching experience in the sport they are being recognized in and five years at Vanguard/SCC in said sport.  The nominee must ave attained significant recognition in their field and have been adjudicated to have made significant contributions to the SCC/VU Department.  For Meritorious Service, a nominee must have proven themselves in significant service to SCC/VU or in service to the sport they are being recognized in.  A team must have made an unusual or significant record of achievement.
