Women’s Golf Places Fourth at Vanguard Spring Invite

BEAUMONT, Calif. – Posting a team score of 671, Vanguard women's golf finished in fourth place at the Vanguard Spring Invite, held at Oak Valley Golf Club.

The Lions shot 334 over the first 18 holes and concluded the final 18 at 337. The team champion was OUAZ, which improved by 19 shots over round one to post a 629 (329-310). Taylor Wilczek earned medalist honors for the Spirit as she shot a tournament low 67 in the final round, overcoming an 80 in the first round. 

Wilczek's 3-over 147 (80-67) was four shots clear of runner-up Kaetlyn Halseth of Embry-Riddle.

The Lions got a solid performance from Brooklyn Motske, who finished third overall with an 8-over 152 (74-78). In 14th place was Shyla Tigilau, who carded a 171 (82-89).

Rounding out the VU competitors was Annabell Le with a 174 (88-86) and Shanaya Neru with a 177 (93-84).

What's Next?: Vanguard returns to action at the Cal State Los Angeles Tournament on February 5-6 in Pasadena.
