LONG BEACH, Calif. - Vanguard Men's Track and Field geared up for their last test before the Pacific West Conference Championships next week in a pair of meets this past weekend. Nine different Lions competed between the Beach and Bryan Clay Invitationals in preparation for the penultimate meet of the campaign.
Beach Invitational (Hosted by Long Beach State)
The Lion put out the bulk of their field in the 100m dash, with
Jonathan Krynicki staging as Vanguard's frontrunner of the four VU competitors, sweeping in at 10.86 race which placed him into fourth. He was followed by
Lenier Pitts Jr.'s seventh place run (11.03), as well as
Deyton Ford (11.35) and
Brandon Pereira (11.46). Pereira was also a 14
th-place finisher in the 200m (23.11).
Donovan Ralls was a podium placer in the 800m, locking in a 1:58.99 time to take third.
Josiah Kirby closed the event in seventh, timing a 2:07.13.
Joab Vela and
Chris Watson were three spots apart for the 100H, with Vela in 16
th (15.02) and Watson sourcing a 19th-place 15.27 run.
Andre Hackett came in at 21.75 for the 200m dash to close out the runners.
Trevor Bode's 21' 6¼" long jump was fourth-best in his flight, whilst
Beau Swett had a 6' 1½" performance at the high jump.

Bryan Clay Invitational (Hosted by Azusa Pacific)
Three Lions featured at the Invitational, with
Andre Hackett closing out a busy weekend with a 100m race on Saturday. The freshman filed in at 10.81.
The final VU pairing coupled in the 800m with
Isaiah Feaver leading the duo (1:56.15) followed by
Cooper Anderson (1:58.52).

What's Next? The Blue and Gold are off to the 2026 PacWest Championships hosted by Point Loma from April 23-25.
