FULLERTON, Calif. – Vanguard men's track and field featured at the Ben Brown Invitational this Friday, making the short trek to Cal State Fullerton for the second of the two-day event. The Lion group mainly excelled in the running events, with a few Lions achieving personal bests and first-time debuts in new events.

What Happened? Isaiah Feaver and Cooper Anderson were among the primary faces setting personal bests. The pair both had career best marks in the 800m, separated by an eyelash and two spots. Feaver came in at 1:56.05 to lead the Lions in 14th, and Anderson was a whisker away at 1:56.52 to take 16th. Feaver and Anderson were also among the top VU finishers in the 1500m, with Feaver setting another career-best time at 4:15.37 and Anderson placing behind him by two seconds (4:17.14).

In the 400m hurdles, Landon Torres also locked in a personal best in his first showing at the event. Torres was in 10th place with a 55.69 time, while Cohen Swift took 16th with a 59.24.
Rounding out the hurdles was Chris Watson, who lined up in lane eight in the 110m for VU. Watson finished 13th with a 15.13 time.

Brandon Pereria was the highest finisher VU (34th) in the 400m, finishing in at 52.86.

The sprinting cast was led by freshmen Andre Hackett and Lenier Pitts Jr. The pair were separated by .3 seconds in the 100m, placing them five places apart when the dust settled. Hackett took 18th with a 10.87 time, and Pitts Jr. was in 23rd at 10.90. Hackett also raced in the 200m race, taking 16th place, netting a 21.79 finish.

What's Next? The Lions have a quick turnaround for the Occidental Invitational tomorrow, March 14, at Jack Kemp Stadium in Los Angeles.
