LONG BEACH, Calif. -- For the first time in her career, Emma Schaaf is a Pacific West Conference Player of the Week.  Schaaf won two Defender of the Week laurels last season and was the conference's Freshman of the Year, and she becomes the fourth Player of the Week in program history in the PacWest and the sixth weekly winner overall. 
 
Schaaf averaged 23.5 points per game in two contests, with her dominant game against Dominican propelling her to such heights.  She deposited a career-high 30 points on the Penguins, made two blocks, ended second on VU with seven rebounds (three on offense), and chipped in one assist.  Schaaf went 9-for-16 from the floor, made three of her seven attempts from downtown, and went 9-for-12 from the charity stripe.  She tied three other PacWest players for fifth for most points scored in a single game this season.  Schaaf then ended second on the team in points and paced VU against the Sharks of Hawaii Pacific.  17 points and seven rebounds should not feel like a letdown after such an outpouring, and she again posted two blocks, and added an assist to finish with two on Saturday. 
 
Schaaf is now fifth in points per game (14.2) in the PacWest and 11th in rebounds per game (6.9).
