IRVINE, Calif. -- The Vanguard STUNT team completed the regular season on Friday night at CUI as the Golden Eagles and Lions faced off for the second time in 2025.  VU had handled the Golden Eagles at home, but CUI played a little better at home, taking the win 15-12.  CUI improved to 11-9 and VU dropped to 6-11.
 
What Happened?  The Golden Eagles made the first quarter of partner stunts the difference, as CUI took a point on all four routines.  While the Blue and Gold were awarded two points, the first frame would be the only one decided by more than one tally.  Both teams put up high routine numbers in the second period of pyramids and tosses, with CUI taking the interval 2-1.  The Lions returned to take the third quarter of jumps and tumbling 3-2, but that was the only quarter the Lions would claim.  The Golden Eagles narrowly edged Vanguard 7-6 in the final frame of the combined routines to secure a 15-12 decision.
 
What's Next?  The Lions will wait for the reveal of the 2025 STUNT DII National Championship bracket to see if they are headed to Nashville later this month.
