RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Vanguard STUNT had one of its better performances in recent memory against the Lancers of CBU Wednesday night, though the squad lost 24-6.  VU's score was the most since an 18-6 defeat on February 19, 2021, when the Lions lost 18-6.  Vanguard is now 6-10.
 
What Happened?  The Blue and Gold got one point in the first period of partner stunts to trail 4-1, but the undefeated Lancers took all four points in the second frame of pyramids and tosses to lead 8-1 at halftime.  The Lions pushed the issue in the third frame of jumps and tumbling, as the squad took two points to make the score 12-3 entering the final quarter of the combined routines.  VU doubled its score in the final interval, though CBU got a point for every stage of action to win 24-6.
 
What's next? A rematch against CUI on April 11 on the road will close out the regular season for Vanguard.
