KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that over 4,800 individuals were selected 2023 NAIA Daktronics Fall Scholar-Athletes for the sports of Women's Volleyball, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Men's Cross Country and Women's Cross Country. Vanguard had 46 individuals recognized for the award.
To qualify for the award, individuals must have achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must also appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at the school.
Women's soccer led the way with 14 honorees, followed by men's soccer (13) and women's volleyball (11). Women's cross country had five individuals earn the distinction and three more from men's cross country.
