The first game was scoreless until the Lions put up three runs in the top of the third inning, produced off a three-run home run by Jeremiah Mejia. The Pride added to the lead in the fourth inning, notching another run with Jason Dovel doubling to right field and eventually scoring on a ground out by Darrell Hudson.
Concordia reached the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning, cutting VU's 4-0 lead in half with a pair of runs.
Vanguard featured another run in the top of the sixth inning produced by an RBI single from Jerry Pena, stretching VU's cushion back to three runs, 5-2.
The Eagles became one run closer in the bottom of the sixth inning and tied the game in the seventh inning.
With a 5-5 game after nine innings, the Lions produced the game winning runs in the top of the tenth inning. The three runs came from RBI singles from Pena and Hudson, before Tyson Leighton lifted a sacrifice fly to score the last run.
Vanguard starter Mike Leal pitched 6.0 innings, allowing three runs and nine hits before Bryce Reid took over and gave up two run and three hits in 2.0 innings of relief action. Tucker Woods was awarded the win for his one inning of work and Joseph Vega III earned the save.
Concordia starter Jordan Hartley allowed four runs and three hits in 3.0 innings on the hill. Reliever Sam Lindsey went 6.2 innings allowing four runs and eight hits.
Meija lead the Lions with one hit and three RBI, while Pena and Darrell Hudson both had two hits and two RBI.
Concordia was paced by Kyle Konicek 3-3 with an RBI and Matt Ivanoff, Bryan Nicholson, and Tony Harkey having two hits each for the Eagles.
The game one win made the nightcap meaningful as it remained a must win game for the Blue and Gold to continue the possibility for a playoff spot. Unfortunately, the Lions dropped game two by a margin of 6-1.

Concordia starter Brent Calapper (6-4) earned the win in the contest, only allowing five hits and a single run.
The Pride offense was highlighted by Mejia 2-3 with an RBI and Leighton, Bryson Rahier, and Eric Sanchez collected hits.
The Blue and Gold end the season with a 22-26 overall record and a 16-20 record in GSAC competition.
