Biography
The athlete: Sarah returns to the Lions for her senior season, after a spectacular year that saw her earn All-GSAC honors?averaged 8 points, five assists, and nearly two steals per game as a junior?fourth in the country in assist/turnover ratio, and tenth in assists/game?also shot 80 percent from the free-throw line and 45 percent from both the field and beyond the arc?as a sophomore, was ranked in the top ten in the country for total assists (177, 7th in the nation), assists per game (5.1, 10th), and assist to turnover ratio (2.95, 1st)?also was the team leader in steals, with 61, and three-point percentage (.543)?chipped in nearly seven points per game as well?one of just two Lions to start and play in all 34 games of the 2007-2008 National Championship team?averaged 9.2 points per game as a freshman, connecting on 30 three-pointers and leading the squad with 153 assists?joined the Lions after an outstanding career at Oregon City High School in Oregon City, Oregon?played in the same system as current VU teammate Paige Halberg under coaches Kurt Guelsdorf and Brad Smith?was First Team All-League, All-State Honorable Mention and McDonald's All-American Nominee?has played basketball for 15 years ?super quick and very dangerous at both ends of the court?one of the quickest penetrators in the country, and very difficult to stop in the open court?has great vision?team captain as a senior, and will lead the VU program this season?should challenge for All-American honors in 2010-2011.
