The athlete:  Lisa begins her second season in VU’s blue and gold after transferring from the University of California, Irvine where she played two seasons for Coach Mark Adams…holds UCI’s school record for assists…made the Honorable Mention All-Big West Team as a sophomore in 2003…graduated from Oregon City High School in 2001…was an All-Conference and All-State high school player and team MVP for OCHS…helped lead team to two league championships and two state tournaments…has played basketball for 15 years…had an incredible NAIA debut last year…named GSAC Player of the Year and 1^st-Team All-America…superior ball handling and passing skills…led the NAIA in assists a year ago with 9.8 per game…good touch on her shot…averaged 13 points per game as a junior…spiritual leader and team captain…VU’s Co-Female Athlete of the Year in 2004…also an NAIA Scholar-Athlete as a junior…expect an even better season for VU’s senior floor leader.

The person:  Lisa was born on December 10, 1982 in Milwaukie, Oregon…father is David Faulkner…mother is Angie Horst…has three brothers…nicknames are “Gus Gus” and “Faulkie”…likes to eat at Wahoos and Daphines…favorite athlete is Jerry Rice…loves the movie “The Green Mile”…watches “Sportscenter” on television…favorite color is blue and number is 21…is a San Francisco 49er fanatic…enjoys spending time at the beach, surfing, body boarding, and fishing…likes the book “Where the Red Fern Grows”…would like to meet Jesus…loves the team chemistry of her VU Lions…believes that greed is the biggest problem in the world…has learned from life that perseverance produces maturity…competing in athletics has taught her to press on, and that everything is not always going to go smoothly.

Her thoughts:  I transferred to Vanguard because of the Christian atmosphere and to be fulfilled spiritually.
