The athlete: Laura was a member of the 1999 Alaska State Champions of Palmer High School…was selected All Region twice and was a USA Today All-American selection from Alaska in 1999…played in all 35 games her freshman year for the Lions…averaged 14.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game…led Vanguard with 114 three-point baskets and a 39.3 three-point shooting percentage…works hard on and off the court…made the All-GSAC team last year as a freshman…headed for an outstanding career as a shooting guard for the Lions.
The person: Laura was born June 12, 1981 to Leslie and Cynthia Lee in Palmer, Alaska…nicknamed “Lee Lee” by her team…studying Business at Vanguard…enjoys working out, writing poetry and cooking…favorite TV show is “Seinfeld”…sports hero is “Pistol” Pete Maravich… would like to meet Jesus…has learned in life that you change your life by changing your heart…likes the focus point of her team this year…eventually wants to become a successful businesswoman.
Her thoughts: I selected Vanguard University to find direction for my life, to play basketball, and to strengthen my relationship with God. My favorite things here include my prayer partner, my roomies, and the everlasting love that God shines through the people on this campus.
