Vanguard University

The athlete:  Lacey begins her sophomore season as the only non-senior returner on the Vanguard roster…had an outstanding freshman year, averaging 6.2 points per game and swishing a team-high 48 three-pointers…played in every game last season and started in five…the Oregon native graduated from Oregon City High School in 2001…two-sport high school athlete…OCHS was a two-time Oregon State Champion while Lacey played there…named a tournament All-Star for the “End of the Oregon Trail” tournament…smart ballplayer from an excellent high school program…off guard…great shooter…knows how to win…will have a huge impact for the Lions in 2002-03 and in the future.

The person:  Lacey was born on July 27, 1983 in Portland, Oregon…parents are Mike and Dana Mills…has two younger siblings who both compete in sports…friends call her “Lace”…is a Biology/Pre-medicine major…favorite food is teriyaki chicken…enjoys reading murder mysteries, and going fishing or swimming…likes the beach, the number 12, and the color aqua blue…favorite TV show is “Whose Line is it Anyway?”…loves the movie “A League of Their Own”…really likes the chemistry on the VU team…has learned from life that you have to take the bad with the good…competing in athletics has taught her to always give 110%…eventually would like to be an Orthopedic surgeon.

Her thoughts:  I came to VU because I liked the location and the Christian atmosphere.  There are great people at Vanguard.
