2025-26: The end of Byon's career was the best curtain call a player could have, as she orchestrated the Vanguard offensive like she had been here all four years. The results: the first PacWest championships in program and school history, the first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, the PacWest Player of the Year award, and an All-Region selection. She registered almost 100 more points at VU in her final year, tallying 380 for an average of 12.7 per game. She started every game but one, as an injusry sidelined her for the PacWest Tournament game against Westmont, and averaged 30.7 minutes per match. She set highs in most metrics, as she shot 44.4% from the floor (146-329), 32.7% from deep (16-49) and 80% from the charity stripe (72-90). Only her three-point conversion mark and free throw attempts and makes were not bettered from 2024-25. She was one of the best point guards in the nation, posting 177 assists, good for 5.9 per game, while making two blocks and 45 steals, putting her third in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio, sixth in total assist, and fifth in assists per game. She had 19 games with 10 or more points, scored in every game, and a season-high 25 points at home against PLNU. She had at least 12 points in all but two of her final 12 games, which includes the three playoff games VU played in. She had two games with 10 or more assists, with the 12 at home against Dominican being her career-high. She had at least one rebound in all but one game and had a high of nine at Hawaii Hilo, another career-best. She had a perfect 10-for-10 night from the free-throw line at Hawaii Pacific to set a career-best in that department, and had 20 games with two or fewer turnovers.
2024-25: Point Loma
With the Sea Lions, Byon earned 2nd-Team All-PacWest and was on the All-Tournament Team, helping PLNU win the regular season and Conference Tournament title. She started all but one of her 30 games, averaging 9.5ppg, 3.2rpg, 5.3 apg (led the PacWest). Byon scored 13pts at Dominican in the PacWest Tournament clincher. Her highs with PLNU included 26pts against Simon Fraser and 10 assists on 2 occasions (vs CSUSM and APU). The CSUSM game was her lone double-double. She accomplished this on splits of .363/.286/.755.
2022-24: Utah Valley
2023-24: Byon started 3 of her 26 games in her second year. She averaged 4.9ppg with a season-highs of 14 points (vs Utah Tech and Idaho) and three swipes in a February contest at Abilene Christian.
2022-23: Byon's collegiate journey began with the Wolverines, averaging 9.1ppg and 2.6apg in 26.2mpg as a freshman. In conference play, those numbers jumped to 11.9 points and 3.3 helpers. She scored in double-figures in 12 of the 15 final contests of the campaign, and had a season-high 21 points at Tarleton State. Academic All-WAC was her first honor.
HIGH SCHOOL: Rosary Academy
Byon was well-accomplished at the academy, starting all four years. Averaging 19.7ppg/6.9apg/5.5rpg, Byon was named Orange County Girl's Basketball Player of the Year by the OC Register. She was All-State and All-CIF every year, helping her receive a McDonald's All-America nomination. She helped her team beat Mater Dei when the Monarchs were on a 90-game win-streak. Byon won two CIF State Division I titles.
What is one food you could eat for the rest of your life, what is one you would destroy from the earth, and why?
One food that I could eat for the rest of my life would have to be sushi. There’s a large variety I can choose from. One food that I would destroy from earth are olives
What is your record for the game “chubby bunny” or how many marshmallows do you think you can put in your mouth?
