Sierra Vaglica

Sierra Vaglica was promoted to a full-time assistant coach in June 2022.  Vaglica handles administrative responsibilities along with recruiting, scouting and on court instruction.

Vaglica assisted the program during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons in a part-time role, helping oversee areas such as scouting reports, travel arrangements, film sessions, and specifically worked with guards during her first year of coaching.  She also contributed to the administration team, overseeing team transportation, accounting and per diem for student-athletes.

An accomplished shooting guard as a player, Vaglica competed for the Lions from 2016-20 and started her final two seasons. She helped VU reach the NAIA Semifinals in 2016.  She connected at a 39.6 percent clip from three-point territory for her career, setting the single-game school record for three-pointers made with 12 against Northern Alberta Institute of Technology on Dec. 17, 2019. In her four seasons at VU, the program posted a 99-26 record, including a 30-4 mark in 2016-17.

In November 2021, Vaglica earned her Master's Degree in Coaching and Administration from Concordia University, Irvine. She also has previous coaching experience with the Cal Swish basketball teams under Davis and former coach Maiya Michel.

Vaglica is supported by her parents, Patsy and Sal, who attended every game possible during her playing career and also, her older brother, Nick.
