The athlete: Sarah begins her second season at Vanguard…bats right and throws right…was her team’s captain and Most Inspirational Player at Esperanza High School…gained a lot of experience last season as a freshman…voted VU’s Most Improved Player last season…she is a very hard worker with high self expectations…contact hitter and good baserunner…working hard for a starting position in the outfield…enthusiastic and encouraging team player…self motivator and competitive athlete.

The person: Sarah was born July 28, 1981 to her mother Kim Ashley…good student, majoring in Exercise Sports Science…favorite yogurt is at Golden Spoon, peanut butter with reeses…enjoys playing softball, making scrapbooks and spending time with her boyfriend…favorite TV show is “Dawson’s Creek”…she has learned not to take anything for granted…has learned from athletics to persevere to reach her goals…wants to eventually work in physical therapy, and become a wife and mother.

Her thoughts: I came to VU because of God and to play softball.  I love that my team is like my family and that I can trust them with anything.
