CLAREMONT, Calif. – In the final tuneup before the PacWest Championships, the Vanguard men's track and field team posted three program top-10 performances at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.
The team also registered a number of personal-bests.
In the 400 meter dash, freshman Donovan Ralls clocked 48.80 seconds for the No. 7 time in VU history.Â
Sophomore Cohen Swift recorded the fourth-best time in program annals in the 400 meter hurdles, covering the distance in 57.55 seconds.
The third top-10 performance came courtesy of sophomore Ommar Arroyo in the 3000 meter steeplechase. He ran the event in 9:50.56.
As far as personal-bests, senior Blake Rodriguez ran the 400 meters in 50.59.Â
Three Lions registered PR's in the 800 meters, with Isaiah Feaver covering in 1:57.25, Jesse O'Campo in 1:59.50 and Josiah Kirby in 2:02.76.
Ralls posted a PR in the 200 meters in 22.39 seconds.
Freshman Caleb Dickerson had his best performance in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a 10:45.80.
Trevor Bode missed his PR, but cleared 20-06.50 (6.26m) in the long jump. Rodriguez notched his personal-best with a clearance of 19-05.25 (5.92m).
Chris Watson placed seventh in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.09. Sophomore Jonathan Krynicki was the top Lion finisher in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.24.
What's Next?: The PacWest Championships will be hosted by Fresno Pacific on April 25-26.
