LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Vanguard sent a contingent of 10 track athletes to compete at the Occidental Invitational on Saturday.
The top finisher was senior Chris Watson in the 110 meter hurdles, as he placed second in 15.04 seconds.
Jonathan Krynicki led a group of four Lions in the 400 meters. The sophomore came in sixth place with a time of 49.68, followed right behind by freshman Donovan Ralls, who made his 400 debut in 50.00. Blake Rodriguez (51.51) and Cohen Swift (53.51) also participated.
In the 800 meters, Cooper Anderson was not far off from his PR as he finished in 1:58.09.
The Lions also competed in a couple of distance events with freshman Caleb Dickerson leading the way in the 5000 meters, clocking a time of 16:19.58. Josiah Kirby posted a 17:27.26.
The 10000 meters featured Anthony Kennen finishing in 15th place in 33:17.36, while Ommar Arroyo established a personal-best with his 33:31.07.
