• Started competing 5 years ago
• In high school also played basketball and soccer
• Freshman Player of the Year (2011)
• First team all conference, Colorado 7 Player of the Year (2012)
• All League first team, First team all conference (2013)
• Player of the Year (2014)  including First team All-State, All-League First Team and 4A honorable mention
• 642 kills as a senior at Elizabeth High School in Colorado

The Person:

• Daughter of Pete and Kim
• Sister Kylee plays lacrosse at Colorado state university and older brother Daniel  played football in college at Mizzou
• Favorite food is teak or pineapple

• Chose VU because it's a really unique environment and school and I felt that I fit in perfectly

​Coach Leja Says: "I am so excited that Shay is going to be a Lion!  Shay has HUGE potential as a top recruit in the country this year.  Her enthusiasm to get better is going to take her far.  Shay has a big jump and is super quick and athletic on the court.  She will be a big part of the future of this program in the impact position of an Outside Hitter."
