The athlete:  Keri begins her second season at VU…was third in kills per game as a freshman and second in digs per game…2002 graduate of Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California…played for Coach Kevin Hitt at MHS in the Suburban League…helped lead MHS to two CIF semi-final and two quarter-final appearances…was the league MVP in 2000 and 2001…2^nd Team All-CIF in 2000…has been involved with the Ichiban Volleyball club for 10 years…versatile and talented athlete…left handed…will spend time at the setter and outside hitting positions…also a quality defender…competitive attitude…brings a special intensity to the game…will do whatever the team needs her to do…has a lot of potential and is a valuable asset to the program…look for Keri to have an awesome year for the Lions.

The person:  Keri was born in Downey, California on July 30, 1984…parents are Peter and Diane DeHaas…has a brother and two sisters…sports hero is Dan Marino…likes to eat Italian food…favorite movie is “Dazed and Confused” and TV show is “Friends”…is a Miami Dolphin fanatic…likes the number 10 and the color orange…her hobby is waterskiing…would like to meet Dan Marino…feels the best thing about this years team is that everyone’s back and they are going to dominate…has learned from life to live everyday to the fullest…playing volleyball has taught her the concept of leadership…desires to become a coach or a massage therapist.

Her thoughts:  I chose Vanguard because the volleyball girls and coaches are awesome. I also like that all the people on campus are friendly and welcoming.
