The athlete: Jennifer is back for her second year at Vanguard but first season of competition?redshirted in 2004?acquired valuable information about the VU program as well as the opponents?graduated from Tri-City Christian High School in 2004?played volleyball for Coach Gail Malone?four-time MVP in high school?All-CIF, All-State, and Athlete of the Year?set a high school career high of 35 kills in one match?also competed for the Epic Volleyball club team?has played volleyball for eight years?strong outside hitter?one of the top volleyball preps coming out of the San Diego area?moves well?brings consistency in passing and defense as well as a strong hitter?is recovering from multiple knee surgeries?good health should ensure Michaelson is a big contributor in her first complete season.

Coach Gulbranson's comments: Jen will be a much awaited presence on the court. She is known throughout club volleyball for her ball control and tremendously strong attack. Jen will help bring us consistency in our serve receive offense and will challenge blockers with her beach-style attack.
