Born in Glendale, AZ Kane attended Deer Valley High School where she finished in the top 15% of her class and played all four years on the Varsity Volleyball team. In Fall of 2015, she graduated college at Concordia University Irvine with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and aspirations of becoming a teacher. Currently, Kayla is pursuing her M.Ed while simultaneously obtaining her teaching credential still at Concordia University Irvine. She finished her undergrad Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA. 

Her coaching experience includes volunteer assisting during her playing career, two years as the Mens' Head JV Volleyball Coach at Deer Valley High School and two years coaching Forza1 North Volleyball Club.

During Kane's playing career, Kayla completed her senior year of high school as the NW Region Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete. Going into her last year of club she tore her ACL, Meniscus, and MCL, but continued playing on a full scholarship to Phoenix College, a community college in Phoenix, AZ. She was the starting setter and captain for her two years leading the team to win back to back region championships and showings at the Jr. College National Championships. She ended her career at PC as an All-American, MVP of the Region and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. After PC, she transferred on a full ride to play indoor/sand volleyball at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  In Louisiana, she underwent her third knee surgery at the end of the season and retired from her indoor career. For her last year of eligibility, she transferred to Concordia University Irvine to play beach volleyball and to complete her teaching credential here in California.
