The athlete:  Olivia enters her second year with the Lions… was a three-sport athlete at Grand Island High School…all-conference and best defensive player…played a season at Catawba College in North Carolina and a year at Houghton College in New York…Honorable Mention All-America honors at Houghton…All-Region Defender as well…started every game last season for VU…tenacious defender, but may also play in a forward role as a senior this season…good size…driven athlete with superior strength…will cause havoc against smaller players…look for her to be an asset on both sides of the field in 2002.

The person:  Olivia was born in Kenmore, New York on October 5, 1980…parents are Bob and Barb Fick…has one sister…teammates call her “O” for short…majoring in Exercise Sports Science…likes to eat French fries…enjoys snowboarding and playing the guitar…favorite movie is “Clueless”…likes to watch “Beverly Hills 90210” on TV…sports hero is Michael Owens…cheers for the NY Yankees…favorite color is blue…likes the number seven…would like to meet Brad Pitt…believes her team this year is going to be awesome…has learned from life to follow her dreams…athletics has taught her to be determined….wants to become a Physical Education Teacher.

Her thoughts:  I chose Vanguard because it is near the beach in southern California.  I really enjoy the people I have met.
