The athlete: Katheryn joins the Lions after two successful seasons at Santiago Canyon Junior College…team was ranked second in the nation and went 25-1-1 on their way to a state championship in 2006…graduated from Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo, California…2005 graduate who played for Coach Randy Dodge in the Sea View League…captain who led her team to three Sea View League Championships…has played soccer for 10 years.

The person: Katheryn was born on October 5, 1987 to her parents Ricardo and Sherry…has one brother and one sister…nickname is Katie…is studying Sociology at Vanguard…loves to eat at “Wahoo’s Fish Tacos”… favorite TV show is “Desperate Housewives”…enjoys going to the beach… cheers for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish… loves the color pink and cookie dough ice cream …most respects her dad, the best person she knows…learned that life is unpredictable.

Her thoughts: I came to VU to strengthen my relationship with God. 

Coach’s comments:  Katie can play forward or defense and has a lethal left foot.  Katie brings 2 years of Junior college experience and a State Championship at Santiago Canyon Junior College.  She brings maturity and leadership to a young team.
