Vanguard University

The athlete:  Jen joined VU in 2000 and starts her third season with the Lions and her final year of eligibility…helped Cypress College win the State Championship prior to transferring to Vanguard…has played soccer for 18 years…started every game the last two seasons for the Lions…smart defender with decent speed…long ball specialist…aggressive and competitive…feared defender to opposing forwards…precise serving abilities from the backfield…hates to lose and knows how to win…wants to end her career on a successful note.

The person:  Jen was born in Newport Beach on January 20, 1980…parents are Paul and Jan Shaver…has one brother…nickname is “Sh-Sh Shaver”…senior in Sociology at VU…likes to eat pizza and watch “Friends” on TV…cheers for the Chicago White Sox…favorite color is blue…likes the number four…would like to meet Rob Blake…thinks that lies are the biggest problem in the world…loves that the Lions know how to have fun…soccer has taught her that she needs hard work, dedication, and a ton of prayer to succeed…has learned from life that friends make all the difference…would like to be a professional soccer player.
