Vanguard University

The athlete: Ivana joins Vanguard after graduating from Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe Springs, CA in 2007…played for Head Coach Fernie Fernandez…was 1^st Team All-League and Area…Offensive Player of the League and team…2^nd Team All-CIF and Team MVP…became the team’s second all-time leading scorer…also played volleyball and was on the Track and Field team.

The person: Ivana J. was born on February 5, 1989 to parents Victor and Nidia…has two brothers, Ervin and Victor along with one sister, Jessica…loves watching movies…favorite movie is “50 First Dates”…likes eating at “Red Robin”…enjoys Rocky Road ice cream…says the most important characteristic for a person to have is faith…came to Vanguard because it was a good Christian school.

Her thoughts: I’ve learned in life to never go through life without trying new experiences.

Coach’s comments: Ivana is a very physical attacker who can finish with finesse.  Her ability to be a strong attacker and her great work ethic will be a positive impact to our team.
