The athlete:  Debra is in her sophomore season at VU…a 2000 graduate of Hillcrest High School in Springfield, Missouri…three-sport HS athlete…earned MVP and Leadership awards for soccer at HHS…attended Evangel University in 2001 but did not play soccer…has played soccer for 12 years…can play halfback or forward…strong attacker from the backfield…hard worker who isn’t afraid to sacrifice her body for the ball…gained experience last year as a freshman…aggressive player who believes in the Lion program…good potential for increasing her role this season.

The person:  Debra was born on November 5, 1981 in Erie, Pennsylvania to her parents David and Rebecca Watson…has one brother and one sister…nickname is “D-Slash”…studying Exercise Sports Science and Business…sports hero is Michael Jordan…roots for the St. Louis Rams…loves to eat ice cream from Cold Stones…favorite movie is “Tommy Boy”…enjoys outdoor sports, swimming, and spending time with friends…has learned from life to put God first and everything else will fall in to place…athletics has taught her about endurance through trials, leadership, and to have fun…wants to be a soccer mom.

Her thoughts:  Debra selected Vanguard because of the soccer program and the location of the school.  She enjoys her teammates and the other friends she has met.
