Kerry Crooks returns to Vanguard for her sixth season as the Head Coach of VU's Women's Soccer Program. Crooks has accumulated an overall record of 42-40-5 as a collegiate head coach with the Lions. Crooks served as an assistant coach for the Lions for two seasons prior to taking the head position. Coming off a 7-9-1 record in 2004, Crooks and the Lions will be shooting for their first playoff berth since 2001 in hopes of making a first-ever trip to the NAIA National Tournament.

In addition to coaching at Vanguard, Kerry has been the head coach at Edison High School since 1991. In 1993 and 2002 she was chosen as the CIF Coach of the Year, and in 1998, 1999, 2001, and 2002 she was named the Sunset League Coach of the Year. Her EHS teams have won five Sunset League Championships and have made 13 CIF playoff appearances. The spring of 2002, Crooks guided Edison to its first CIF Division II Championship. Her overall record at the high school level is 243-72-50 over 14 seasons.

Kerry McGrath Crooks began her soccer career as a player in Orange County. She was an All-League and All-CIF player at Edison High School before committing to University of California at Irvine. At UCI, where Kerry received her BA Degree in 1994, she was a four-year starting defender and scholar-athlete. In 1992 McGrath Crooks was named Anteater of the Year for UCI and was chosen as the Most Inspirational Athlete as a senior in 1993. Crooks completed her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology at Pepperdine University in 1997.

"Vanguard is a wonderful place for women to become leaders in the community," says Crooks. Kerry and her husband Mathew live in Huntington Beach with their two sons, Treyton and Ethan.
