The athlete:  Bryanna transferred to Vanguard last spring and begins her first season on the VU soccer team…came to VU from El Camino College where she played two seasons for coach John Britton…2nd-Team All-Conference player for El Camino…graduated from South Torrance High School in 1999…also ran cross country and track at STHS…helped STHS earn a CIF Championship in 1998…has played soccer for 15 years…scrappy, hard working midfielder… off-season knee injury may slow her progress early in the season…desires to get better every practice and game…relentless in her efforts…will make her mark on the program this season.

The person:  Born on October 3, 1981 in Torrance, California to John and Shannon Gonzales…middle of three kids…nickname is “Bry”…is a Liberal Studies major at VU…likes to eat chocolate and watch “Good Day Live” on TV…favorite movie is “A Beautiful Mind”…roots for the Raiders…hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, and taking naps…sports hero is Michelle Akers…loves the color red and the number three…believes religious indifference is the world’s biggest problem…likes the unity on the 2002 Lions team…has learned that hard work and discipline really does pay off…seeks to be a teacher in the future.

Her thoughts:  I came to VU to learn about God and play soccer at the same time.  I like the small campus.
