Vanguard University

The athlete:  Brooke came to VU from Capo Valley Christian High School…graduated a year early (2002) from CVCHS graduate…three-year varsity letterman…played volleyball and soccer in high school…has played soccer for 11 years…late addition to the team this fall…youngest player on the VU team…after forgoing her senior year, she looks to make a successful leap on to the college field…good with either foot…will make consistent improvements as she adjusts to the new level of competition.

The person:  Born Brooke Raelyn Grindle in Laguna Beach, California on April 5, 1985…parents are Guy and Caryn Grindle…is the oldest of two kids…nickname is “Cookie”…plans to study Sports Medicine at Vanguard…likes to eat chicken and spend time at the beach…sports hero is Joe Montana…favorite color is red…hobbies include playing soccer, surfing, and snowboarding…likes the number 72…spends time reading the Bible…thinks terrorism is the biggest problem in the world…has learned from life that it is easier to live with the truth than a lie…playing soccer has taught her the value of teamwork…wants to be a Physical Education Teacher and a coach.

Her thoughts:  I selected Vanguard because of the Christian environment and because it is close to my home.  I love the atmosphere at VU.
