Biography

The athlete: Rachel returns the Blue and Gold for her senior season, her second campaign with the Lions?had an excellent season as a junior, playing in 32 games last season, starting 31?played 26 minutes per contest and led the team in scoring average, at 15 points/game?hit 108 three-pointers as a junior (third in the Nation), while shooting at a 39% clip?shot 94 percent from the free-throw line, setting a school record?added three boards and an assist per game?came to the Lions after playing two seasons with Head Coach Jim Martineau at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon?First Team All-Conference in 2007 and 2008?Scholar Athlete in 2008?averaged 21.5 points per game as a sophomore and finished second in school history with 1112 points?graduated from Marist High School in Eugene, Oregon in 2006 where she played for Head Coach Chad De Paole?2005-06 Conference MVP and second team All-State?also played soccer?has played basketball for 12 years?one of the hardest workers on the team?great scorer?one of the best 3-pt shooters in the nation?expect another fantastic season from Copeland, as she should challenge for All-Conference and All-American honors as a senior.
