2025: Shigenaka had a productive first year of play for VU. He finished third on the squad in BA (.312), starting 38 of 45 total games. The outfielder had three homers on the season; the first of his career coming in the seven-inning home contest with CUI, and the other two being on the road at Biola and Hawaii Pacific. "Shiggy" had nine multi-hit games this season, including a career-best three hits at Biola (3-3, HR) and at Hawaii Pacific (3-3, HR, 2RBI, BB). He had a career-best eight-game hit-streak from April 5 to April 18. Defensively, he had only three errors at a mix of LF and CF, with a pair of painful robberies at home for VU. Shigenaka was 20th in the PacWest for OBP at .442.
