Vanguard University

The athlete: Ryan was an All Conference and All Region player at Phoenix College before transferring to Vanguard last season…hard tackling defender who plays at 110% all day long…huge asset to the Lion’s back four…a tough minded player with speed and skill…will be called on to be the defensive enforcer for the Lions.

The person: Ryan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 30, 1978 to John and Diane Rutkowski…Communications major…teammates call him “Towski”…likes fish and his favorite movie is “Braveheart”…favorite team is the Netherlands…would like to meet Pele…believes the biggest problem in the world is racism…soccer has taught him to work hard…has learned to live life to the fullest…wants to become a sports broadcaster.

His thoughts:  Ryan selected Vanguard University because of the coaches and the men’s soccer program.  He is excited about this year’s team and likes the environment on campus.
