Vanguard University

The athlete:  Matt enters his fourth and final season for the Lions…senior fullback…student-athlete who works extremely hard on and off the field…NAIA Scholar-Athlete last season…always striving to get better as a player…has a great attitude and the heart of a winner…one of three four-year seniors…team player who will do whatever it takes to help the team…ready to take on a bigger role this season.

The person: Matt was born February 5, 1980 to Keith and Denise Swift in Anaheim, California…team calls him “Swifty”…senior and excellent student in the Exercise Sports Science program…loves Chinese food and the movie “Gladiator”…enjoys snowboarding and playing the guitar…favorite team is Manchester United…feels that the world’s biggest problem is that people don’t let God help them…life has taught him to trust God…works as a student athletic trainer on campus.

His thoughts:  I chose Vanguard University because of the location and to be a part of the soccer program.  I love the people and the atmosphere here.
