The athlete:  Jason enters his second season at Vanguard…played in 12 games and scored one goal as a freshman in 2005…will be playing his final season with his older brother Chris… graduated in 2005 from Pasadena High School where he played for Coach Cheriff Zein…three-year varsity player in the Pacific League…Second-Team All-League selection…played two years for the Flyers Soccer Club…has played the game for 12 years…brings good size and experience to the defensive end…hard worker...consistent effort…competitive attitude…feisty player…took advantage of his opportunities as a freshman…gained experience in preparation for 2006…look for Swift to compete for a starting role as a sophomore.

The person:  Jason Karl was born in Glendale, California on February 20, 1987 to his parents Carl and Pam…one of three children…nickname is “Stiffy”…carried a 3.9 GPA in high school…will be majoring in Psychology at Vanguard…likes to eat burritos…favorite movie is “Happy Gilmore”…likes watching “Family Guy” on television…loves the color green and the number eight…spends free time playing poker and sleeping…has learned that life is not always fair…believes that hatred is the biggest problem in the world…wants to become a good person.

His thoughts:  Jason chose Vanguard because of the academics and to play soccer with his brother.  He enjoys the people at Vanguard.
