The athlete: Darin comes to Vanguard from Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, California…look for Darin to start in the back for the Lions…has the mental toughness of a seasoned veteran…played on three CIF Championship teams…was part of a 56-game unbeaten streak…played under Coach Sami Nedjar…the Lions are excited to have Darin on board…has the potential to be a leader and a captain for the Lions.

The person: Born on February 10, 1985 in Grossmont, California to Terry and Debbie DeVore…younger brother to Stephanie…his major is undecided…enjoys eating a nice steak…sports hero is Lance Armstrong…favorite teams are Liverpool and Manchester United…favorite place is England…likes the movie “Lord of the Rings”…enjoys the TV show “That 70’s Show”…favorite color is blue and favorite number is nine…his hobby is watching movies…feels that racism and terrorism are the biggest problems in the world…thinks the best thing about this year’s team is that everyone connects and gets along…has learned from life to make good decisions…athletics has taught him that there is no “I” in team…wants to become a sports trainer for a professional soccer team.
