The athlete:  Dane is a collegiate rookie with the Lions this fall…comes to Vanguard from Cascade Christian High School in Puyallup, Washington…2005 graduate…played for Coach Stuart Lee…was either a first or second-team All-League selection all four years of HS…also played football at CCHS…four-year scholar-athlete…good foot speed…brings in solid skills as a freshman…has played soccer for 13 years…midfielder and forward who will compete for time on the field…first-year player with a  bright future with the Lions.

The person:  Dane Edward Absher was born in Belleville, Illinois on September 18, 1986…parents are Don and Denise…has four other siblings…plans to major in Business Administration…carried a 3.69 GPA in high school…sports hero is Jerry Rice…likes to eat pasta…loves the movie “Swingers” and the TV show “Friends”…favorite color is blue…roots for the Seattle Seahawks…enjoys lifting weights and listening to music…would like to meet John Mayer…has learned that life isn’t always what it seems…competing in soccer has taught him about discipline and teamwork…sees himself as a Businessman in the future.

His thoughts: The location and academic reputation drew Dane to Vanguard.  He likes the people he has met and loves the location.
