Vanguard University

Fred Goff joins the Vanguard University coaching staff for the first time this year.  He reunites with Head Coach Dave McLeish after playing for him at Cerritos College.  Goff replaces long-time assistant Cleon Jones, and will serve as an assistant coach and will also specialize in working with the goalkeepers.

Goff has an extensive soccer background as a player and a coach.  He was a standout goalkeeper for McLeish at Cerritos College, and then went on to play 18 years of club soccer.  In particular, he has played for the Holland Soccer Club and Cerritos United. 

Fred has coached at Edison and Mayfair High Schools and has been an assistant coach at Cerritos College. In addition, he has served as the Vice President of the West Orange County United Soccer Club who was the 1997 State Cup Champions.

Goff and his wife Cindy reside in Long Beach, California.  They have four children.
