2025: The Freshman made an impact in his first collegiate campaign. He played 29 minutes in his debut at Cal State East Bay before getting his first career point via assist against UC Merced. Ortiz found the net out in Honolulu against Hawaii Pacific in the 53rd minute, unassisted. Ortiz continued to find production for the VU offense by tacking on two more assists over the final fortnight of the regular season. He played a career-high 71 minutes at Cal Poly Pomona. Ortiz had nine shots with three on goal this season.
