The athlete:  Anthony joins the Lions for his first season…transferred to Vanguard from Long Beach City College where he played two years…was a first-team All-Conference player…named LBCC’s Defensive Player of the Year…2003 graduate of Millikan High School…was a first-team All-Moore League choice at MHS…second-team All-CIF selection...team captain was named to the Dream Team…Most Valuable Defensive Player…has played soccer as long as he can remember…skilled player…will play where ever the Lions need him…big pickup for the Lions…expect Burrola to blend in well and make an impact early in his VU career.

The person:  Anthony Michael was born in Torrance, California on February 3, 1985…parents are Andres Burrola and Carmen Arias…has five brothers and three sisters…Kinesiology major…likes to eat fruit and chocolate…favorite movies are “Man On Fire” and “Hero”…watches “Law And Order” and “CSI” on television…likes the color combination of black and white…prefers the numbers eight and five…roots for Manchester United…hobbies are soccer, soccer, and more soccer…would like to meet his sports hero Zinedine Zidane…competing in soccer has taught him about confidence, team work, leadership, and friendship…wants to become a National Team Coach.
