The Athlete: Shawn joins Vanguard University from Moorpark High School where he played from Tim Rednar... he is going to be a great player in our program... he already demonstrates leadership skills which most Freshmen take a season or two to develop... he sees the court well, shoots it well, and is aggressive both offensively and defensively.

The Person: Born August 9, 1981 to John Carol Corkey... his sports hero is Pete Maravich... his favorite book is the Bible... he likes to collect autographs and hang out with friends... he would like to meet Barry Sanders... he has learned from life that God wants a relationship.

His thoughts: I selected Vanguard University because I felt it was God's will. The people on this campus are unbelievable.
