The
athlete: Levi moved into a starting position as a junior last year and
is coming off his finest season with the Lions…four-year senior who
will also serve as a team captain…produced career numbers with 10.3
points and 5.8 rebounds per game in 2005…has played in 70 games in
three seasons for the Lions…has been the hardest working player his
entire career - will not be outworked…brings a different dynamic to the
game…has a will-run-through-a-wall type mentality…fan favorite because
of his attitude and playing style…2002 graduate of Lake Roosevelt High
School in Coulee Dam, Washington…played for Coach Josh Johnson at LRHS
where he was an All-League selection…three-sport high school athlete,
baseball, football, and basketball…All-League and All-State basketball
player…has played basketball for 12 years…has also competed in track
and field for the Lions…team player with an amazing attitude…made huge
progress in his game as a junior…named Lion of the Week in 2005…can
play just about anywhere on the court and will do whatever he can to
help the team win…strengths have been rebounding and defense, however,
he has developed into a viable offensive threat with the ball in his
hands …respected student-athlete…strong person…leads by example…is a
charter member of VU’s Champions of Character Program Center’s
LIONS...Levi will be difficult to keep from succeeding as a senior.
The person: Levi Franklin Seekins was born in Kirkland, Washington
on April 16, 1984…mother is Janet Seekins…has three brothers…nickname
is "Seek" for short…is a senior in Business at Vanguard…sports hero is
Jeff Henry…loves to eat Siam Chow Mein…likes the movie "Gladiator" and
TV show "Family Guy"…prefers the color red…wears his favorite number,
four…cheers for the Seattle Mariners…enjoys reading the Harry Potter
Series…enjoys going to the movies and making 7/11 and Chipotle
runs…would like to meet Emma Watson…feels that a lack of direction is
the biggest problem in the world…has learned from life not to worry too
much…competing in sports has taught him about hard work and
dedication…wants to become a Philanthropist.
Levi’s closing thoughts: Vanguard has a great family atmosphere that
enables one to grow spiritually, emotionally, and as a person. I hope
people would remember me for how hard I worked and that I was a fun
person who had a great attitude and outlook.
Coach Wilson’s Comments: Levi has the total package as an athlete,
student, and person. He is the hardest worker on the team and gets the
most out of his ability. Levi is one of the top competitors to come
through the program.
