The athlete:  Leon is ready for his junior season after coming off of a strong year…gained valuable experience as a sophomore with the Lions…started 24 games in 2004 and played in 29 of 32…averaged 8.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game…second on the team in rebounds…Leon is a key ingredient to VU’s success in the future…came to Vanguard from Martin Luther King High School after graduating in 2002…played for Coach Timothy Sweeney in the Sunkist League…Riverside County Co-Player of the Year…led MLK to the Division II State Championship…All-State and All-County player…MVP of the First-Annual Bill Reynolds Classic held at VU in 2001…very talented player…could be one of the top rebounders in the conference…improved a lot as a sophomore…runs the floor very well…has the potential to average in double figures in scoring and rebounding…good defender…impressive as a person as well…natural leadership qualities and ability to develop quality relationships…look for Leon to have a great year in the Blue and Gold.

The person:  Leon D. Rosborough was born in Los Angeles, California on July 21, 1984…parents are Leon and Michelle…has one younger sister named Noel…nickname is “L”….double majoring in Business Administration and Marketing at VU…especially enjoys eating free food…sports hero is Kobe Bryant…favorite movie is “Scarface”…fanatic of the LA Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys…loves the colors blue and red and the number 33…favorite place is his own bed…hobbies include lifting weights, listening to music, reading and shopping…feels that sin is the biggest problem in the world…has learned from life that not everyone will like you…athletics has taught him to be patient…desires to become a professional basketball player.

His thoughts:  Leon chose Vanguard because he felt God told him this was the school for him.
