The
athlete: Kevin begins his third season at Vanguard University…he was
limited by injury in 2005 after a stellar freshman season…enters his
sophomore season as a Lion…has 434 points and 119 assists in two
seasons at VUSC…shoots 37.4% from three-point range (77 for
206)…graduated from Troy High School in 2003…played for Coach T.J.
Hardeman in the Freeway League…two-time team captain for THS…two-time
All-League selection…All-CIF SS second team…league MVP…OC All-Star game
participant…OC three-point champion as a senior…three-time
Scholar-Athlete…has played basketball for 14 years…can play either
guard position…great knowledge and understanding of the game…polished
shooter who is developing in other areas…will work hard to play a
bigger role as a junior…joined the LIONS program this fall…look for
good things from Dalafu in 2005-06.
The person: Kevin Daniel Dalafu was born on January 9, 1985 in
Whittier, California…parents are Ephraim and Kathy Dalafu…has two
younger brothers, Jason and Joshua…is a Business Administration major
at Vanguard…sports hero is John Stockton…fanatic of the LA Lakers…likes
to eat pasta…loves the movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and the TV
show "Saved By The Bell"…favorite place is the Philippines…prefers the
color orange and the number 20…loves the "DaVinci Code"…believes that
selfishness is the biggest problem in the world…likes the community on
his VU team…has learned to put God first and everything else after…
competing in basketball has taught him that leadership wins
championships…wants to become a basketball coach.
His thoughts: I selected Vanguard because it is close to home. I have made a lot of good friends here.
Coach Wilson’s Comments: Kevin loves basketball will be a positive
force on the team if he continues to work hard and dedicates himself to
get better in all areas of the game.
