The athlete:  Horace dons a Lion jersey for the first time this season…junior transfer from Pasadena City College…made two appearances on the SCC Northern All-Conference team while at PCC…averaged scoring in double figures in both years…scored 37 points in a game as a freshman…made 70 three-pointers as a freshman…played basketball and ran track at John Muir High School prior to attending PCC…All-Pacific League player and team Co-MVP…high school All-Star…helped lead MHS to the PL Championship…has played basketball for 15 years…will move right into a starting role for the Lions…should be one of the quickest perimeter players in the NAIA…extremely competitive…team captain and floor leader as a junior…will lead the offense as well as add to the scoring punch…outstanding person with a strong spiritual walk…will fit right in as a newcomer for the Lions…look for big things from Horace.

The person:  Horace was born in Los Angeles, California on October 22, 1984…parents are Horace and Linda Wormely…has one sister…nickname is “Hov”…is studying Business at Vanguard…likes to eat soul food…sports hero is Jackie Robinson…favorite movie is “Scarface” and likes the TV show “Martin”…roots for the Orlando Magic…loves the color red and will wear the number 3 for the Lions…favorite place is Pasadena, California…enjoys spending time rapping, debating, collecting foreign coins…would like to meet Jesus and Martin Luther King Jr….feels that individualism is the biggest problem in the world…he loves the camaraderie on the VU men’s basketball team…has learned to never take anything for granted…playing basketball has taught him to have self-discipline and competitiveness…wants to become a Sports Agent or NBA player.
