Vanguard University

The athlete:  Gabe gained valuable experience as a freshman last season with the Lions…played in all but two games…was an All-State high school selection at Northwest Christian High School in Spokane, Washington prior to attending Vanguard…averaged 15 points per game as a senior…also played soccer in high school…exceptional attitude and work ethic…gives everything he has at both ends of the court…his size adds to the depth at the post or forward position…not afraid to go head to head with bigger stronger players…has a “take no prisoners” mentality…intelligent player who is mobile and aggressive…is also an excellent student…will be fighting transfer players for playing time this season.

The person:  Gabe was born in Spokane, Washington on October 1, 1981…parents are Gene and Marcia Goldman…nicknamed “green giant”…studying Physical Therapy at Vanguard…favorite athlete is Michael Jordan…likes to play the guitar…loves to drink espresso…wants to meet his future wife…thinks the biggest problem in the world is a lack of love…has learned to treat people how you want to be treated…sports has taught him perseverance in adversity…wants to be a successful Physical Therapist.

His thoughts:  I came to VU to play basketball and to be in a challenging academic society.  I love all the happy people around campus.
